A hassle-free way to get yourself a website

Sooner or later everyone who uses the Internet, wants to have a website. Even complete computer novices dream of having their own website or blog. However, a lot of people never get one simply because they are put off by the fact that they have to learn how to create a website and figure out things like hosting, CMS, php, CSS, and other stuff. True, you don't need to learn any programming languages to create a simple blog using Blogger, but what if you want to have something that looks more professional?

Weebly is a free service that makes it easy to create websites. With its help you can easily create professional-looking websites using easy to use drag-and-drop functionality.

How to create a website with Weebly

To create your first website, you need to join Weebly. You will be signed up under the free plan, which allows you to have up to two websites. Once you've signed up and activated your account, you can start creating your website. First of all, you need to decide whether you want it to be under the Weebly subdomain (for example, www.mysite.weebly.com) or you want to get yourself a domain (for example, www.mysite.com). You can either register a domain through Weebly or use a domain you've registered elsewhere. That's a better option, since Weebly charges quite a bit more for domain registration than other registrars.

Once you've set up the domain, you can start creating your website. The first step is to choose a theme. There are hundreds of themes for all types of sites and you can customize them with your own images and fonts. And if you can't find a theme you like, you can always ask Weebly designers to create one for you. That costs money, though.

OK, so you have a theme. Now is the time to create some pages and content. Creating new pages can be done in literally a couple of clicks and customizing the layout of your website is as easy as drag-and-drop. You can add text, images, various widgets, and even monetize your website with AdSense and create an online store that accepts payments through PayPal and Google Checkout. Not bad for a free service. Weebly will take 50% of your AdSense revenue, though, but it's only fare since they provide free hosting and all. On top of that, you can add custom HTML to your website, which means that you can add pretty much anything.

Weebly also offers you the option to upload videos, files, and music to your website, but you need to upgrade to their paid service to be able to do that. Embedding YouTube videos is free, so you might consider using YouTube to add videos to your website.

All in all, Weebly is a good website building platform that enables users to create professional-looking websites in a quick and easy way without having to pay for hosting and hiring professionals. You can view sites built with Weebly here, here and here. I think they are pretty good.
